Robert J. Coughlan


Owner & Principal, Coughlan Companies, Inc.
Bob, with his brother Jim, are the fourth-generation of Coughlans leading the diversified Coughlan Companies, Inc. As the family-owned company expanded with stone, banking, land development holdings and publishing, it developed centralized management and administrative services to serve its two operating companies: Capstone and Jordan Sands.  Before Bob’s tenure on the Board, he served in a variety of executive leadership positions in the manufacturing and publishing industries. Currently, Bob enjoys being involved in CEO peer to peer roundtables. He graduated from Gonzaga University, Spokane, with a B.A. in History.

James P. Coughlan


Owner & Principal, Coughlan Companies, Inc.
In 1983, Jim and his brother Bob became the fourth-generation owners of the Coughlan Stone Quarry. Today, Coughlan Companies, Inc. is comprised of Capstone and Jordan Sands and provides centralized management and administrative services to all businesses under Jim and Bob’s, direction. Jim managed the development of the stone business and expanded the publishing imprints to include fiction under the Stone Arch Books imprint. Jim studied Agricultural Economics at Gonzaga University, Spokane, and the University of Minnesota, St. Paul.

Scott Sustacek

Chief Executive Officer
Scott is Chief Executive Officer of Jordan Sands, LLC.  Since joining Jordan Sands in May of 2012, Scott has led the company through the rigorous process of permitting a mine and sand processing facility in Minnesota.  With project design, site acquisition, and contractor selection completed, Jordan Sands is now operating and producing high quality industrial sand.  Scott has put the building blocks of a growth-focused organization in a rapidly growing marketplace.

Prior to Jordan Sands, Scott served as CEO of Nystrom, Inc. and CEO of Babcock Davis, LLC which were both commercial construction product manufacturers and distributors.  While there, he built both businesses into strong domestic and international brands through strong channel strategy coupled with low-cost-lean-manufacturing.  He has also served on the boards of Coughlan Companies, Inc., CEO Roundtable, and various community organizations.

Scott holds a bachelor of science degree in Finance with a double major in Economics.

William R. Rouse


 Chief Operating Officer, Coughlan Companies, Inc.
Bill provides direction in finance and operations  for Coughlan Companies, comprised of Capstone and Jordan Sands. Before joining Coughlan Companies in 2008, Bill served as the Vice President and General Manager of Anchor Block Company and the Holmberg Company, and as President of Cargill’s Seed Division. Bill has a B.A. in Political Science from Northwest Missouri State University, Marysville.

Brett Skilbred


Vice President
Since graduating in 2006 from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business with an MBA in Finance and Operations, Brett was Director of Quarry Operations and Materials for Indiana Limestone Company, the largest quarrier of dimensional limestone in the U.S. Prior to his MBA, Brett consulted in the telecommunications industry managing projects for several municipalities, the State of Indiana, as well as two Fortune 100 companies. As Vice President of Jordan Sands Brett has helped lead the strategic direction and tactical execution of the operations including the resource development, mining, wet and dry processing, material management, rail fleet management, and process engineering.
